Oh hello there! It's been a while since I've been aboard a ship. Well, as part of the crew, and not as a passenger. Or a hitchhiker.. And this one looks pretty good too!

Well, I hope we all work well together! And oops...guess I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Zack Fair, you new helmsman! Nice to meet you all!

[Zack's kinda talking to himself right now, and is fiddling absentmindedly with the settings of his journal. Luckily, he's got it on private, since what he's saying isn't really what he wants others to hear. But because he isn't really trying, the security on the privacy filter is crap, and is easily hackable to anyone nosy enough to do so. And it's not like he was ever really all that good at it either in the first place.]

So all this talk and action about dreams and stuff got me thinking. Hah! That's a laugh. Me, thinking. HE always told me that I need to think and plan more before jumping into something. And he'd also add a swat to my head just to emphasize it.

When I was a kid, me and the other neighbourhood guys would run around playing stuff like the hero versus the evil dragon, soldiers versus the band of robbers. And I loved playing the hero. Loved it so much I ran off and joined the Ivona military. Kinda regret it now. Not everything, but the fact I didn't say anything to ma and the old man before running off...They probably got a letter saying I died in battle and stuff... It was my dream then. To be a hero. And he said it was good that I had an honourable dream to work for. And honour was a really big thing to him.

So I did my best to be a hero, even after he was gone. And it was okay, for a while. I worked hard, trying to live up to his memory even if the others told me it was impossible.

Until everything went to hell.

And now, years later, instead of being a hero, I'm one of those murdering pirates people curse in the taverns when they're drunk. And when they're not drunk, to tell the truth. Except that the 'murdering pirates' haven't really done any real pirating since I joined up. And some of them a really nice guys.

So who the hell am I now? And what would he he think of me if he saw me now?

I guess I should have expected it, he's always had a bit of a wanderer's soul in him. And he's alright now, and doesn't really need me watching his back all the time.

Still... I wish he could have stayed.

A plane race sounds like real fun! It's too bad I never learned how to fly, though a plane certainly isn't as portable as my sword.

Huh. Didn't like the president or most of the Ivonian councilmen too much, but I do feel sorry for their families.
